Untv.ca's Eisha Basit explores the misconceptions about the way some Muslim women dress. Islam is not the only religion or culture with a modest dress code. Jewish, Seikh, and Hindu people, as well as Nuns and Priests all have a dress code, which for the most part includes covering the hair. If you look at a depiction of Virgin Mary, her clothing and hair covering are similar to the Islamic dress of a Muslim woman. In fact, Islam is not even the first religion to prescribe veiling the hair as part of the believers' dress code. It's 2007: Ignorance is no longer funny, cute, or acceptable. Enjoy the video!

{Shabina Begum's Jilbab Lawsuit}

This is from 2006 when Shabina Begum sued her former school because they would not allow her to wear jilbabs. She won the first lawsuit but she did not win the appeal. She is also featured in the post below.
